Spencer

Just thought I would send a quick update about the love of my life, Spencer. He has been fantastic and such a gift. He has adjusted so nicely to our home. He takes the term "lap dog" very seriously, and is rarely not on my lap. He enjoys sunbathing, running ( a lot... and VERY quickly), eating, and sleeping on down comforters. He loves car rides and trips to the pet store (he occasionally tries to drive). We have learned that windshield wipers are considered immediate danger and he lunges at every opportunity. He finds the two fish fascinating, as he jumps on the closest chair to watch them swim. Spencer has also been very well behaved as I have begun to introduce him to Violet, my beloved rabbit. I have no doubt that after a few more meet and greets they will become very close siblings. Thank you very much for allowing us to have such an adorable creature. We could not be any happier with our new son! Love, Caroline and Brian

Yoda

Just a word to let everyone at Michigan Pug Rescue know how our Yoda is doing since he came to live with us in September. He is pictured here with his sister, Mirdle, helping Mom make the bed. We are so happy Yoda came to live with us. He is a loving, affectionate dog, and comical too! In fact, he has taken on the nickname "Yodel" instead of Yoda because every time he hears the treat bag being opened, or when it's meal time, he yodels for us! We truly wouldn't trade Yoda for the world!! Thanks to all of the wonderful folks at the Michigan Pug Rescue. Keep up the great work that you do!! Chris and Sue Richards.

Co-Co

Hi! . So sorry it took so long to write but life has had a lot of twists and turns for my Mom. We spend a lot of time taking care of her 95 year old Mother and last year my Mom made her daughter's wedding dress!! Then there was the wedding!! I am still a little spit-fire but so much more calm then when I came here. My Mom and I love each other so much. We are so happy that we are together. We met a neighbor with 3 pugs!! The neighbor, Rocco, watches me for Mom and I love playing with Otis, Junior and Bruce (female)!! They have a fenced in yard and oh how I love to run around there!! Also, I get to go to Elk Rapids and spend time with Paczki, my Aunt Andi's pug and I go to Holland to visit Angel, my Uncle Mike's Chihuahua mix dog I am such a good girl as I go potty outside all the time and I do not get up on the table anymore. Now if you leave the chair out and there food on your plate, well that is another story. I love everyone I see and so many of them love me too. I just love to cuddle with my Mom and she lets me sleep with her as I am in the crate while she is at work. Two more years and she will retire!! We cannot wait!! Love, CoCo

Lucy

I Love Lucy! One of our pugs, Lucy who is 7 was recently diagnosed with cancer. She went to the vet hospital for some dental surgery and the vets found a large tumor on her jaw. My husband and I adopted her three years ago - our third from Michigan Pug Rescue. Lucy is the funniest little pug and has brightened our lives and the lives of the many people who have met her here in Philadelphia. I laugh almost daily watching her crazy antics and realize that she is one of the best stress busters around! We want the best for Lucy and decided because her quality of life is still excellent (she eats, plays and performs her regular activities with zest), we wanted to keep her happy and avoid chemo or radiation which would have serious side effects and possibly affect her eating since the tumor is located on her jaw. She is on a pain medicine and another medicine that the vets believe will slow the growth of the tumor. We're not sure how long she has with us, but she is definitely enjoying life, being spoiled and just having fun. Lucy has always loved barking at the animals on tv, or at anything she finds interesting. As I write this, she is paying a lot of attention to the tv, communicating with the screen! After a little tv watching, she has now just grabbed one of her toys and is quietly holding it and making a calming purring noise. This is soothing to her and even more so to me because I know she feels great today! God Bless, Gina Blyther Gilliam

Ralphy

Ralphy has become an excellent addition to our family. He has learned the layout of our home quickly and travels around very well, in fact he has picked up the nickname Roaming Ralph. Ralphy has had only two accidents to date, but they appear to be the result of normal male marking. Other than that he has done well. He goes on one walk per day and enjoys the exercise. I would encourage people not to rule out a special needs dog, although Ralphy does require a little more extra time and patience, he has been so worth it. We love him very much and we know he feels the same because of all the extra kisses he gives! We are happy that he has become a permanent presence in our home. Love , Yhe Ruis family
