Sammy
Sammy was the second pug we adopted from the Michigan Pug Rescue. He entered our lives in 2003, and even after all these wonderful years together, it seems like we brought him home just yesterday. For the first few years, he was an extremely energetic pug who loved food and couldn’t sit still. As he aged, he became a couch potato who loved to snuggle on the sofa and burrow under the covers at bedtime. After all these years together, he never stopped loving food and would run to his bowl like the first day we brought him home. Even though he drooled, hated baths, and left dog hair everywhere, he was our best friend and we miss him terribly. Sammy and Owen, our first pug, are back together now and we hope they know how much joy and happiness they brought to our family. Words can’t describe how much we loved our pugs. They were our family and we are grateful to Michigan Pug Rescue for bringing them into our lives.

Ginger
It is with sadness in our hearts that we had to let Ginger go the Rainbow Bridge. She was only with us three short years, but in that time she really was so much part of us and became so much a part of our family. She instantly became the Diva of the house. Unfortunately and although she was only eight years old, she had some significant problems in the last year. She could no longer see or smell and had terrible arthritis in both her legs and back. She seemed really miserable and confused. She no longer waved her tail or barked anymore. She didn't even get comfort from our other dog, Oreo,or from us. It was heartbreaking to see her like this. So, we made the hard decision to let her pass to the Rainbow Bridge where she can wait for Oreo and her other dog friends. We know she is at peace now. We miss you but you are in a better place and no more suffering. Dr Pat said you can see all the colors of the rainbow now. Cathy

Dozier
Here he is with his buds. They would sit on the kayak and I would swim and pull them out to the sandbar where we would play with a water frisbee. Doz was too good at that. Dozer was diagnosised with Cushings disease. I obviously don't care what they called it, but he could no longer walk or control his body movements and was in constant pain. He would look at me like why are you doing this?? The biggest thing about Dozie was he both gave and received much, much joy. These things mentioned will be the way he was remembered. Thank you for giving us the joy of Dozie The Steeh family

Katie
It is with great sadness that Katie has lost her fight with Heartworm Disease. Heartworm is a preventable disease. Having your pet tested annually and administering preventative medication monthly year around helps to prevent this sometimes deadly disease. The treatment is heart wrenching for the owner of the dog and it is unfair that any pet should go through the treatment. For a period of 4 weeks the pet must be caged and only allowed out of that cage for potty time which must be on a short leash. Interaction with other pets or people can only serve to excite the pet and potentially cause a blockage in the blood stream resulting in death. This is in addition to the fact that the treatment is not always successful as was the case with Katie. In addition it is an expensive treatment that nobody needs to have. Please have your pet tested annually and administer the preventative 12 months a year

Clara
Clara and Henrietta came to our home on November 11, 2012 and brought such joy to our home. Clara always had such a big smile on her face and her body would wiggle every time we walked into the room. Every pet finds a way into your heart, but Clara burrowed deep into our souls and she is missed every single day since her passing on Monday, October 27th. From the moment we saw her picture, we fell in love with her and continue to love and miss her every day. Thank you Clara Bell for your unconditional love and happiness you provided to our family. You have gone to be with all of our friends that have crossed the "Rainbow Bridge". Now you can run and play, just like you did the day you came into our home. We love you Clara and miss you very much!! Terrie & Leslie
