Rocko
My name is Daniel Nelson and my family and I adopted Rocko from Michigan Pug Rescue in 2006. I regret to inform you that Rocko had to be put to sleep on Tuesday December 6th due to health issues. He was a very loving companion who brought us a lot of warm memories and he will always be remembered. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to adopt him. We could not ask for a better dog. With appreciation, Daniel Nelson

Bette
It is with great sadness that we are writing to you today. I can still barely type the words, but Bette crossed the Rainbow Bridge on Tuesday October 30, 2018. She was our precious little girl and our first addition to our family, but her strength and curiosity unfortunately got the best of her causing her to leave us too soon. After learning how strong and curious she was we quickly had to change from gating to crating and even had a pet camera. We loved her adventurous nature, but in 10 short minutes she managed to knock over and explore the kitchen trash while my husband was in the shower, causing our heartbreak today. We will always question why she wasn't napping like usual, why did it happen so quick, and how could we have prevented this. Even though she was always by our side, 10 minutes changed our lives forever in this freak accident. We never knew we could love a dog as much as her and she will forever be our first child. She went to all our family events with us, slept with us, and was our little shadow. I don't think our hearts will ever recover from this, but we are so glad Bette was a part of our lives and we could love her so much during our short time together. The days are not the same without morning belly rubs, daily walks and snorts, and her good night kisses. Our grief is unbearable, as we have lost the greatest gift we have ever received. Thank you for the gift of our time with Bette, she will always be in our hearts and thoughts. Love Andrea & Steven.

Nelly
We only had you for 2 short years. You somehow survived on the streets of Detroit before being picked up by the Humane Society. You didn't trust anyone maybe because you were abused prior to coming to us and tried to bite everyone who wanted to help you. You chose us to trust and spend your life with. You fought through heart worm, Pneumonia, Hepatitis, partial blindness, chronic cough which was an after affect of the heart worm and a collapsing trachea when you exhaled. You lost control of your bladder and would not allow us to diaper you. As a result you would urinated whenever you coughed but also while you slept. You developed sores as a result of laying in the urine and would not allow us to bathe you. Unfortunately none of the medications that were prescribed for you could help. We tried so hard to help you but once you turned on us you left us not choice but to help you over the bridge. We don't know if you were suffering so much and had pain therefore did not want us to pick you up. We loved you enough not to allow you to suffer any more. In the end you did it your way! Larry and Kathy

Louie
Five years ago this weekend I met you both at the Meet Your Best Friend at the zoo event. I also met my beautiful pug Ginger that day. You both believed that Ginger and I were meant to be together and allowed me to adopt her despite some obstacles. Eight months later I fell in love with my second Michigan pug rescue pug, Louie. Louie was the missing piece to our family and him and Ginger quickly became best friends. Louie lived a life of luxury with Ginger and I for a little over 4 years. He was the sweetest, most loving boy who loved to lay on anything soft and lick his paws. In his last year of life be lost his vision but that never stopped him. He loved to sunbathe and wander around outside in the backyard. I even bought him a doggie stroller so he could join Ginger and I on walks. Louie fell very ill in June 2018. We did everything we could for him. On June 24th he crossed the rainbow bridge surrounded by people who loved him and his loyal sister, Ginger. We will always miss our sweet Louie boy but are so grateful for the wonderful years we had with him. I will forever be grateful to you both for allowing me to adopt him and Ginger. I hope to adopt another pug rescue pug in the future. Thank you again for all you do for the pugs! Jill Mouranie

Ralphie
It is with a heavy heart I write to you today to inform you that Ralphie crossed Rainbow Bridge this morning. Ralphie was the center and sunshine of my life. He loved to help me get ready for work, loved to hang out in the kitchen while dinner was cooking, and loved being outside in his backyard in any weather. He had a routine he made sure my husband and I stuck to . In 2011 he captured my heart and will forever remain there. He was a very special guy and you don’t find that everyday. My heart aches but I know Ralphie is in a place where he can finally see and I know one day he will come to greet us all once again! This is an older picture of Ralphie but it is one of my favorites. Sincerely, Heidi & Sean❤️
